WiFi Setup

Track: Scanner Care & Troubleshooting

Before You Start

The Monarch 6059+ scanner connects to your dealership network over WiFi. A working WiFi connection is required for the scanner to communicate with ScanIt Parts and your DMS.

Important:

You do not need to log in to ScanIt Parts to set up the wireless connection. WiFi setup is done through the Android system settings, which are accessible from the home screen.

Network Requirements

Before connecting, confirm the following with your IT department:

  • The WiFi network name (SSID) and password
  • The network must support 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (the 6059+ supports dual-band WiFi)
  • The scanner needs outbound internet access to reach the ScanIt Parts cloud platform
  • WPA2 security is recommended

Step-by-Step WiFi Setup

Step 1: Open Quick Settings

From the scanner's home screen, swipe down on the wireless icon at the top of the screen. This opens the Android quick settings panel.

Step 2: Select Internet

In the quick settings panel, tap the Internet button. This opens the WiFi network list.

Step 3: Choose Your Network

You will see a list of available WiFi networks. The WiFi toggle should be ON. Tap the network you want to connect to. If your network does not appear, tap See all at the bottom of the list.

Step 4: Enter Password and Save

A dialog box appears for the selected network. Enter the WiFi password and tap Save. If the scanner was previously connected, you may see "(unchanged)" in the password field -- just tap Save to reconnect.

Step 5: Return to ScanIt Parts

Once connected, swipe up on the screen to close the system settings and return to the ScanIt Parts application.

Verify the Connection

After connecting to WiFi, run a connection test to confirm everything is working:

  1. On the ScanIt Parts main menu, tap the three-line menu icon (hamburger menu).
  2. Select Device Tests.
  3. Select Connection Test.
  4. The test will check connectivity to the ScanIt Parts server and your DMS.
Warning:

If any items show "Failed" in the connection test, the scanner may not function properly. Check your WiFi connection, verify the password, and contact your IT department if the issue persists.

Troubleshooting

Network does not appear in the list

Make sure the WiFi toggle is ON. Tap "See all" to view hidden networks. If the network is hidden, you may need to add it manually through Android WiFi settings. Confirm with your IT department that the access point is broadcasting.

Connects but connection test fails

The scanner may be connected to WiFi but unable to reach the internet. Check with your IT department that the network allows outbound internet access. Some guest or captive portal networks may block the required connections.

Keeps disconnecting

Move the scanner closer to the WiFi access point to check signal strength. If the problem persists in the parts department, you may need an additional access point or signal booster. The 6059+ works best with a strong, stable WiFi signal.

Wrong password error

Double-check the WiFi password with your IT department. Passwords are case-sensitive. Tap the "Show password" checkbox to verify what you typed before saving.
